President Bola Tinubu arrived in Cape Town for the 11th Nigeria-South Africa Bi-National Commission (BNC) session. The discussions will cover political, consular, financial, security, and trade matters. The BNC, established in 1999, aims to strengthen bilateral ties and foster cooperation between Nigeria and South Africa.

President Bola Tinubu and his delegation arrived in Cape Town, South Africa, late on Monday to attend the 11th session of the Nigeria-South Africa Bi-National Commission (BNC). Upon arrival, Tinubu was welcomed by South Africa's Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Roland Lamola, and Nigeria’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu.

The session will address various critical issues including political dialogue, consular and migration matters, banking and finance, defense and security, trade, manufacturing, social sectors, energy, and mining. The Nigeria-South Africa BNC, which was founded in 1999, serves as a platform to enhance bilateral relations and cooperation between the two nations.

Key discussions with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa will focus on strengthening partnerships and tackling shared challenges. Both countries are focused on exploring avenues for economic growth and mutual benefit.

This visit marks a significant moment in Nigeria’s diplomatic efforts to bolster ties with South Africa and underscores the commitment of both nations to building stronger and more productive relations.
