At the All Progressives Congress (APC) South-West Zone Assembly in Lagos, President Bola Tinubu emphasized that his focus remains on improving Nigeria rather than seeking re-election in 2027. Represented by his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, Tinubu expressed his commitment to tackling the nation's challenges and advancing the welfare of Nigerians. Acknowledging citizens' hardships, he pledged to continue prioritizing the country's progress and building a prosperous future for generations to come.
The event, hosted by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, also saw prominent APC leaders and governors from the South-West region discuss strategies for strengthening regional unity and advancing the Renewed Hope Agenda. Sanwo-Olu highlighted the importance of collaboration within the APC to propel the South-West towards greater development. At the same time, former Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi urged the APC to maintain unity and resilience as the ruling party. Notable attendees included APC senators, state representatives, and former Ogun State Governors Chief Olusegun Osoba and Ibikunle Amosun.
