President Bola Tinubu has appointed Jamiu Abiola, son of late MKO Abiola, as Senior Special Assistant on Linguistics and Foreign Matters. Effective November 14, 2024, the appointment emphasizes collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, aiming to enhance Nigeria's diplomatic ties and linguistic expertise.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Jamiu Abiola as Senior Special Assistant on Linguistics and Foreign Matters. This new role, announced by Segun Imohiosen, Director of Information and Public Relations in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, became effective on November 14, 2024.

Jamiu Abiola, son of late Chief Moshood Abiola—winner of the annulled 1993 presidential election—previously held the position of Special Assistant on Special Duties under the Vice President’s office. His current appointment complies with the Certain Political and Judicial Office Holders (Salaries and Allowances, etc) Act 2008, as amended.

The presidency underscored the strategic importance of Abiola’s new responsibilities, particularly his collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. President Tinubu encouraged him to utilize his skills and experience to strengthen the nation's diplomatic and linguistic initiatives.
