
President Bola Tinubu has appointed Bishop Matthew Kukah as Pro-Chancellor of the Federal University of Applied Sciences, Kachia. Key officials were also named, including a vice-chancellor and governing council members. Tinubu urged them to foster academic excellence as the university prepares to welcome students in 2025.
President Bola Tinubu has named Bishop Matthew Kukah as the Pro-Chancellor of the Federal University of Applied Sciences, Kachia, Kaduna State. The appointment, announced in a statement by presidential adviser Bayo Onanuga, also included key university officials.
Professor Qurix Williams Barnabas was appointed vice Chancellor, while Sanusi Gambo Adamu will serve as Registrar. Ibrahim Dalhat and Daniel Abubakar were named Bursar and Librarian, respectively.
Additionally, Tinubu approved the selection of Thomas Etuh (North Central), Chief Fabian Nwaora (South East), Professor Femi Taiwo (South West), and Zarah Bukar (North East) as members of the university's governing council.
The president emphasized that the appointments were made based on the individuals’ professional expertise and leadership experience. He urged them to ensure the university becomes a center for academic excellence, aligning with his administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
The institution, formerly known as Nok University, was rebranded following its acquisition by the federal government. It is set to admit its first batch of students in September 2025.
