He reflected on the presentation of the proposed 2025 budget of N49.7 trillion to the National Assembly on December 18, 2024, which he described as part of his administration's “Budget of Restoration: Securing Peace, Rebuilding Prosperity.” He explained that the budget aims to enhance the country’s growth by fostering peace, prosperity, and opportunities for all citizens.
Tinubu stated that the path forward is not one of division but of collective effort, urging every Nigerian to contribute to the vision of a united nation focused on future progress. He noted that the government’s focus is on securing peace, supporting the private sector, and promoting investment while encouraging Nigerians to look towards a brighter future. The budget proposal, which aims to address the country’s economic challenges, has already passed its second reading in the Senate and House of Representatives. As of January 6, heads of various ministries and agencies began defending their budget estimates before the national assembly, with the final budget expected to be passed by the end of January.
