President Bola Tinubu praised Nyesom Wike's appointment as FCT Minister, calling it one of his administration's best decisions.

President Bola Tinubu has hailed the appointment of Nyesom Wike as Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) as one of the best decisions of his administration.

Represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima at a commissioning event in Abuja, Tinubu praised Wike for his outstanding contributions, particularly in the extension of the Inner Southern Expressway (ISEX) and Outer Southern Expressway (OSEX) to the Southern Parkway.

Tinubu emphasized Wike’s impact, describing him as a dynamic leader who consistently redefines leadership. "Wike is a force of human nature. Love him, hate him, but you cannot ignore him," he remarked, noting that even critics of Wike's appointment now commend him.

The President highlighted Wike’s exemplary leadership, which has won admiration across the political spectrum.

Despite being a prominent member of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Wike’s role in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) administration has been significant.

His appointment last August, initially controversial within APC circles, has proven effective, showcasing his ability to perform and lead.

Wike, a former governor of Rivers State, was instrumental in the G5 group of PDP governors that supported Tinubu during the 2023 presidential election, opposing PDP candidate Atiku Abubakar.

Tinubu’s endorsement of Wike underscores his appreciation for Wike’s contributions beyond partisan politics, emphasizing the importance of collaborative efforts in governance.

Tinubu’s remarks come amid broader discussions on leadership and political unity, highlighting Wike’s pivotal role in the current administration and the positive reception of his work in the FCT.
