President Bola Tinubu urges APC unity amid internal tensions, calling on the party’s leadership to engage aggrieved members. Despite reconciliation efforts, key figures, including Buhari and Osinbajo, were absent from the NEC meeting. The party affirmed confidence in Tinubu and Ganduje as APC tackles financial burdens and internal rifts.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has acknowledged internal discord within the All Progressives Congress (APC), urging party members to remain united despite growing grievances. Speaking at the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, he called on the National Working Committee (NWC), led by Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, to intensify reconciliation efforts.

"The NWC is doing well, and I appreciate their efforts," Tinubu said. "We must establish committees across states to engage with our aggrieved leaders. I appeal to them to stay calm."

Ganduje assured party members that ongoing reconciliation initiatives were yielding positive results. "We have opened dialogue at various levels to resolve disputes and strengthen party unity," he stated.

Despite the call for unity, notable APC figures, including former President Muhammadu Buhari, ex-Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, and former governors Rotimi Amaechi, Nasir El-Rufai, and Kayode Fayemi, were absent from the NEC meeting. However, APC’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, dismissed concerns, stating that full attendance at such gatherings was never expected.

Morka also addressed El-Rufai’s criticism of the party’s internal structure, attributing it to personal grievances. "Party structures are functional. Grievance-driven narratives shouldn’t be taken as absolute truth," he remarked.

During the meeting, the NEC passed a vote of confidence in Tinubu and Ganduje, with Governor Hope Uzodinma praising the administration’s strides in economic recovery and security improvements. Tinubu expressed gratitude for the support, vowing to uphold progressive governance.

Meanwhile, Ganduje revealed that the party inherited over ₦8 billion in legal liabilities, urging NEC members to address the financial burden.

As APC navigates internal rifts, Tinubu’s administration remains focused on governance, while party leadership pushes for unity ahead of future elections.
