President Bola Tinubu reshuffles the leadership of the South East Development Commission (SEDC), replacing Chairman Emeka Atuma with Emeka Nworgu and appointing new executive directors. This restructuring aims to strengthen the commission’s mission of regional development. All appointments are subject to Senate confirmation.
In a significant shake-up, President Bola Tinubu has removed Hon. Emeka Atuma from his role as Chairman of the South East Development Commission (SEDC) and appointed Emeka Nworgu as his replacement.
The move also saw the replacement of three executive directors, with two new appointments, including Stanley Ohajuruka as Executive Director for Finance and Toby Okechukwu as Executive Director of Projects. Key members like Hon Mark C. Okoye will retain their positions, while the new board, consisting of 16 members, will now await Senate confirmation.
Tinubu expressed confidence that the new leadership will help further the Commission's mission to accelerate development in the southeast.
