President Bola Tinubu has ordered security agencies to rescue female students abducted by bandits in Zamfara. The attack occurred in the Sabon-Gida community, Bungudu Local Government Area, where over 24 students from the Federal University of Gusau were kidnapped. While six students were subsequently rescued, Tinubu has directed efforts to free those still in captivity.

In a statement, Tinubu strongly condemned the abduction, emphasizing that there is no moral justification for such heinous crimes against innocent students seeking quality education. He expressed condolences to the affected families and reaffirmed his government's commitment to protect every Nigerian citizen. Tinubu assured the families of the abducted students that no effort would be spared to ensure their safe return.

Additionally, President Tinubu pledged to safeguard educational institutions, ensuring they remain sanctuaries of knowledge, growth, and opportunity, free from the menace of terrorists. The abduction in Zamfara is part of a concerning trend of student kidnappings, particularly in Nigeria's North-West region, where bandits target schools. Security forces and authorities have been actively working to rescue abducted students and combat this menace.
