The Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF) has opened applications for its 2025 entrepreneurship programmes, targeting aspiring and existing entrepreneurs across Africa. Announced on its website, the initiative offers training, mentorship, and non-refundable seed funding through three distinct programmes: TEF Entrepreneurship Programme, IYBA-WE4A Entrepreneurship Programme, and Aguka Ideation Programme.
The flagship TEF Entrepreneurship Programme is open to African entrepreneurs with innovative ideas or businesses less than five years old, emphasizing ventures leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) and green initiatives. Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
The IYBA-WE4A programme, a partnership with the European Union (EU) and GIZ, supports women entrepreneurs in green business sectors across eight African nations, including Senegal, Kenya, and Mozambique. Businesses must be under five years old to qualify.
The Aguka Ideation Programme, developed in collaboration with UNDP Rwanda and Rwanda's Ministry of Youth and Arts, targets Rwandan entrepreneurs aged 18-30, providing $3,000 in seed capital to transform innovative ideas into sustainable businesses.
Applications are open via TEFConnect, the foundation's digital hub, from January 1 to March 1, 2025. Eligible African entrepreneurs are encouraged to submit scalable business ideas or proposals within the timeframe.
TEF continues to empower Africa’s entrepreneurial ecosystem with programs fostering innovation and growth.
