Niger Delta University final-year student Francis Palaowei was killed over a ₦500 levy dispute at an entertainment spot in Amasoma. Southern Ijaw LG Chairman Target Segibo condemned the killing and called for justice, urging security agencies to apprehend the culprits and bring them to justice.

A final year Political Science student of Niger Delta University, Francis Palaowei, was tragically killed over a disagreement regarding a ₦500 levy at an entertainment spot on Wilberforce Island, Amasoma.

The incident occurred on Tuesday after the youths in charge of the sand dump increased the levy from ₦150 to ₦500, sparking a fatal altercation. Southern Ijaw Local Government Chairman, Target Segibo, expressed his condolences and condemned the act, stressing his administration's zero tolerance for crime. He urged security agencies to swiftly apprehend the culprits and bring them to justice.

Segibo also called for calm among the deceased's family and the university community, assuring them that efforts were underway to ensure justice. The chairman reiterated his commitment to maintaining peace and order in the local government area and emphasized the need for collective efforts to combat criminal activities.
