The Edo State Police Command has arrested Kelvin Izekor for allegedly murdering his wife, Success Izekor, at their home in Benin City. The tragic incident occurred on February 22, 2025, in the Upper Mission Extension area.

Residents reported hearing a disturbance before discovering the lifeless body of the 38-year-old woman. Witnesses claim she had suffered deep wounds to her head. A viral video circulating online shows officers recovering the victim’s remains as a shocked crowd looks on.

Police spokesperson Moses Yamu confirmed the arrest, stating that enraged locals attempted to attack the suspect before law enforcement intervened. “Officers arrived promptly at the scene, where they found the deceased in a pool of blood. The suspect was taken into custody to prevent mob justice,” Yamu said.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the case, with the Edo State Commissioner of Police, Betty Otimenyin, condemning the rise in domestic violence. She reassured the public that the matter would be thoroughly investigated and justice served.

Meanwhile, the suspect remains in police custody as legal proceedings begin.
