Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold has reportedly agreed in principle to join Real Madrid in the summer on a free transfer. According to Sky Sports Switzerland, the English full-back and his representatives, including his brother, met with Madrid officials to finalize a five-year contract at the Santiago Bernabéu.

The deal will see the 26-year-old earn €15 million (£13m/$16m) annually, a significant increase from his current Liverpool wages, along with a signing bonus and performance-based incentives. Despite Liverpool's efforts to extend his contract, Alexander-Arnold appears set to embark on a new challenge in Spain, allowing his current deal to expire.

Real Madrid's acquisition of the defender is a major statement, reinforcing their long-term vision for dominance in European football. Meanwhile, Liverpool will need to identify a replacement, with names like Reece James and Jeremie Frimpong already being discussed.

For now, Alexander-Arnold remains focused on Liverpool’s title push under new manager Arne Slot, as the Reds sit 12 points clear at the top of the Premier League. Their next fixture is a crucial Merseyside derby against Everton on April 2.
