Nollywood is in mourning following the passing of the esteemed actor Charles Olumo, widely known as Baba Agbako. He died on October 31, 2024, at the age of 102, a fact confirmed by Bolaji Amusan, president of the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN). In a moving tribute, Mr. Latin honored Olumo's significant contributions to the entertainment sector, referring to him as a father figure.

Born on February 25, 1923, Olumo dedicated his life to acting and became an integral part of Nigeria’s cultural identity. After news of his death spread, many of his peers took to social media to express their condolences. Renowned actor Jide Kosoko praised Olumo's extraordinary resilience, stating, “Good night, dear Baba Charles, a.k.a Agbako. Your remarkable life span of 102 years was truly a testament to your resilience and vitality.”
