Former U.S. President Donald Trump drew comparisons to Nelson Mandela and made several bold statements during a campaign event in New Hampshire. Trump asserted that he is unafraid of imprisonment and commented on his legal challenges. He stated that 91 criminal charges against him were part of a "fascist" witch hunt led by the White House under President Joe Biden.
Trump, the Republican presidential frontrunner for 2024, expressed his willingness to face legal challenges, comparing himself to Nelson Mandela, who spent 27 years in prison for opposing apartheid in South Africa. Trump emphasized that he is taking a stand to "save our country from these fascists," referring to political opponents.
During the event, Trump also addressed his feud with Biden, recalling a comment by the President about taking him "behind the gym and beating the hell out of him" if they were in high school. Trump responded by stating he dreams of punching Biden in the face.
The former President made an additional promise to build an Israeli-style Iron Dome missile defense system over the United States. Trump's 100-minute speech covered various topics, from legal challenges to political rivalries, and included controversial statements.
These comments have added fuel to the political discourse surrounding Trump's potential 2024 presidential bid and ongoing legal issues
