Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, former Minister of Women Affairs, has addressed her recent removal from President Bola Tinubu’s cabinet. In a reshuffle that saw five ministers dismissed, including Kennedy-Ohanenye, she expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to have served Nigeria in her role.

The reshuffle, announced on Wednesday, also saw the exit of key figures such as Lola Ade-John, former Minister of Tourism; Jamila Bio Ibrahim, former Minister of Youth Development; Tahir Mamman, former Minister of Education; and Abdullahi Muhammad Gwarzo, former Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development.

In a heartfelt statement on Thursday, Kennedy-Ohanenye thanked President Tinubu for entrusting her with the position and allowing her to contribute to national development. She also extended her gratitude to First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, whose guidance and support she credited for her achievements during her tenure.

Kennedy-Ohanenye’s statement reflected her unwavering dedication to Nigeria. “It has been an honour to serve my country, and I will continue to contribute to its growth and prosperity in any way I can,” she affirmed.

Despite the abrupt end to her ministerial role, Kennedy-Ohanenye remains committed to serving Nigeria, leaving the door open for future contributions to the nation's progress.
