In response to the devastating helicopter crash near the California-Nevada border, Access Bank has affirmed its cooperation with U.S. authorities investigating the incident that claimed the life of the bank's CEO, Herbert Wigwe.
In its first official statement since the news broke, the bank's spokesperson, Olufisayo Osindeinde, acknowledged the widespread inquiries but refrained from confirming the presence of Mr. Wigwe, his wife, and his son in the crashed helicopter.
The National Transportation Safety Board reported at least three other fatalities, including Abimbola Ogunbanjo, former group chairman of Nigerian Exchange Group Plc. While the bank awaits official confirmation, condolences have poured in from notable figures, including Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala and Atiku Abubakar.
The helicopter was owned by Orbic Helicopter Tours, a renowned provider of aerial experiences in Los Angeles, adding a layer of complexity to the unfolding tragedy.
