The Department of State Security (DSS) has arrested two principal suspects in connection with the tragic killings of 16 northerners in Uromi, Esan North-East Local Government Area of Edo State. The arrests followed credible intelligence, and authorities are actively pursuing additional individuals linked to the attack.
Governor Senator Monday Okpebholo of Edo State previously mentioned that 14 individuals were already detained and would soon be transferred to Abuja for further interrogation. He reassured the victims' families that justice would be served and promised adequate compensation for those who lost loved ones in the violence.
Following the arrest, the two suspects were moved to Abuja, where they will undergo further questioning and face prosecution by the appropriate legal authorities. The investigation is ongoing, and efforts to identify and apprehend all those involved continue.
