The Plateau Police clarified that they are not handling the investigation into the alleged N180 million theft from VeryDarkMan’s NGO. The incident occurred in Abuja, and the case falls outside their jurisdiction. VeryDarkMan plans to travel to Jos to recover the funds.

The Plateau State Police Command has denied any involvement in the investigation regarding the alleged theft of N180 million from VeryDarkMan’s NGO, the Martins Vincent Otse Initiative. According to Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Alabo Alfred, the matter was never reported to the Plateau Police, nor did the incident occur within their jurisdiction.

VeryDarkMan, a social media personality, earlier claimed that hackers accessed his NGO’s account and stole N180 million, also stating that one suspect had been apprehended. He further revealed plans to travel to Jos in a bid to recover the missing funds. However, DSP Alfred clarified that the crime occurred in Abuja, not in Plateau State, and therefore the Plateau State Police could not handle the investigation.

He explained that if the case was reported to the Force Criminal Investigation Department (CID) or the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command, those agencies would be responsible for the case, with their respective Public Relations Officers able to provide updates. The PPRO emphasized that the Plateau Police had no authority over this investigation, as it fell outside their jurisdiction, and any inquiry into the matter would have to be carried out by the relevant authorities in Abuja.
