Nigeria's national football team has named its squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Libya. Key changes include Victor Osimhen's absence due to injury and Ademola Lookman's inclusion. The matches will take place on October 11 and 15, 2024, as Nigeria aims to secure qualification.

As Nigeria gears up for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Libya, Head Coach Augustine Eguavoen has announced significant changes to the squad. Notably, Victor Osimhen has been omitted due to injury concerns, while in-form Ademola Lookman from Atalanta has been included in the 23-man lineup.

The squad also features key players like captain William Ekong, winger Moses Simon, Alex Iwobi, and Samuel Chukwueze, who are expected to play pivotal roles in the upcoming matches. Bright Osayi-Samuel returns to the team after missing previous qualifiers against Benin Republic and Rwanda, alongside Chidera Ejuke, who makes a long-awaited comeback.

The Super Eagles will first host the Mediterranean Knights of Libya at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo on Friday, October 11, before traveling to Benghazi for the return fixture on Tuesday, October 15. All selected players are to report to camp in Uyo on October 7 to begin preparations for these crucial matches.

This doubleheader is critical for Nigeria, a three-time AFCON champion, as they aim to secure their place in the tournament. The exclusion of Osimhen, a key player, adds pressure on the remaining squad members to deliver strong performances against Libya.

The full squad has been confirmed, highlighting Nigeria's commitment to reclaiming its status in African football.
