Victor Osimhen has officially joined Galatasaray on a season-long loan from Napoli. The Nigerian striker expressed his enthusiasm for the move, promising to give his all for the Turkish champions. Osimhen aims to replicate his previous form and help Galatasaray compete in domestic and European competitions.
Victor Osimhen has made a significant move to Galatasaray, joining the Turkish champions on a season-long loan from Napoli. The transfer was confirmed on Wednesday, with Galatasaray agreeing to pay €6 million for the 2024-2025 season. Napoli retains an option to extend Osimhen’s contract until 2027.
In his initial message to Galatasaray fans, Osimhen expressed his excitement via social media: “Super excited to be part of the Galatasaray family! I can’t wait to give my all and make the most of this new journey with such an amazing group and the fans. Ready to create unforgettable memories together! Let’s go!”
Previously, Osimhen extended his contract with Napoli until 2026, having been a key player for the club, scoring 76 goals in 133 appearances since joining in 2020. His impressive performance in the 2022-23 season, where he scored 26 goals, played a crucial role in helping Napoli clinch their first Serie A title in over three decades. However, injuries impacted his performance in the subsequent season.
Now at Galatasaray, under manager Okan Buruk, Osimhen is looking to revive his form. The club has made a strong start to the domestic season, winning their first three matches and closely trailing Fenerbahce in the league standings. His arrival is anticipated to strengthen Galatasaray’s chances for both domestic and European success.
