Kenya Airways removed Nigerian passenger Ms. Gloria Ibukun after she attempted to travel without a Schengen visa. After refusing alternative routes and accommodations, she became aggressive, throwing used sanitary pads at staff. The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority intervened, and Ms. Ibukun will be returned to Nigeria.

A Nigerian woman, Ms. Gloria Ibukun, was recently removed from a Kenya Airways flight bound for Manchester via Paris after attempting to travel without a Schengen visa. The airline had offered alternative routes, but she refused and requested accommodation, which Kenya Airways could not provide due to their policy on undocumented passengers.

The situation escalated when Ms. Ibukun became agitated and threw used sanitary pads at the airline staff in protest. Following the incident, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority’s (NCAA) consumer protection director, Michael Achimugu, intervened. After discussing the situation with the airline, Kenya Airways confirmed they would fly Ms. Ibukun back to Nigeria.

The incident has sparked widespread attention, with social media users sharing their reactions. Kenya Airways has since defended their actions, stating that the incident was in line with its protocols for managing passengers without proper documentation.
