Senator Monday Okpebholo, Edo State’s newly elected governor, and his deputy, Dennis Idahosa, visited President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at Aso Rock to present their Certificates of Return. They expressed gratitude by kneeling, highlighting their commitment to serve the state with support from the federal government.

President Bola Tinubu recently hosted Edo State Governor-elect Senator Monday Okpebholo and his deputy, Hon. Dennis Idahosa, at the State House, Abuja. Following their electoral victory, both leaders expressed their deep gratitude to Tinubu by kneeling before him, acknowledging his support during the election.

During the visit, Okpebholo and Idahosa presented their Certificates of Return to President Tinubu, cementing their leadership roles in Edo State. Tinubu congratulated them on their victory and underscored the need for unity and cooperation to ensure progress in the state.

Accompanying the governor-elect were notable figures from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), including Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, the APC National Chairman, and several governors. Among the governors present were Hope Uzodimma (Imo), Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq (Kwara), Uba Sani (Kaduna), Usman Ododo (Kogi), and Dapo Abiodun (Ogun). Also in attendance were Edo North Senator Adams Oshiomhole and Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared Okpebholo of the APC as the winner of the recent Edo State gubernatorial election, further solidifying his role as the state's new governor.
