Governor Sim Fubara of Rivers State has openly expressed his preparedness to step down from his position in the pursuit of enduring peace for the state. During an interview with AIT on Thursday, Governor Fubara emphasized that he is willing to make any sacrifice necessary for the success of the administration, underlining his authentic love and concern for the welfare of Rivers State.
Importantly, Fubara clarified that his motivation stems from a genuine desire to safeguard the hopes and aspirations of the millions of people in Rivers, rather than any political interests or personal gains. Troubled by the potential setbacks and sacrifices made by the citizens, Fubara reiterated his primary concern for their welfare.
In a resolute statement, the governor asserted, "If leaving this position is what I need or what is needed to bring more peace in this state, I can even tell the people to come and take it. It is not about me. People should understand that I’m here, I will go, but Rivers State will remain."
