In a recent interview with Channels Television’s Politics Today, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State disclosed that foreign names and a company have been implicated in the devastating explosion that claimed three lives and left over 20 houses in ruins in the Bodija area.
Governor Makinde revealed that the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) certificate of a mining company linked to the explosion includes foreign names as owners. The death toll has tragically risen to three, with one additional victim succumbing to injuries. Aerial shots capturing the extensive damage suggest the impact on buildings and properties.
Preliminary investigations by security agencies point to explosive devices stored by illegal miners as the cause of the explosion. As investigations continue, Governor Makinde emphasizes that those found culpable will face justice.
The incident has thrown Ibadan residents into confusion, and efforts are underway to expose the illegal miners responsible for this tragic event.
