Nollywood actor and skit maker Kehinde Ganiyu, popularly known as Ijoba Lande, has publicly apologized to filmmaker Funke Akindele after accusing her of underpaying him for a movie role.
Earlier, Ijoba Lande claimed on social media that Akindele’s production team paid him only ₦90,000 for a role shot at Amen Estate, sparking controversy. However, in a new video released less than a day later, he retracted his statement, admitting that his words had been misinterpreted. He clarified that he initially mentioned ₦190,000 but was misquoted, leading to public backlash.
Lande further explained that when he once refused to attend a shoot over payment concerns, Akindele personally reached out to resolve the issue. He revealed that his final pay ranged from ₦55,000 to ₦65,000 per day, contrary to his earlier claim. He also praised Akindele for treating him with respect.
Fearing legal action, the actor pleaded with the public to help him make amends, urging them not to tarnish his reputation. He acknowledged his past collaboration with Akindele on the TV series My Siblings and I, where he played a gateman.
