Mudashiru Obasa, the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, expressed his gratitude after being reinstated to the position, acknowledging the support he received from key political figures. Speaking on the Assembly floor, Obasa thanked leaders such as former Osun State Governor Bisi Akande and former Ogun State Governor Olusegun Osoba. He also praised the Governance Advisory Council (GAC) members and other political leaders, including Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat, for their role in his return.

Obasa also extended his appreciation to Mojisola Meranda, who had served as the Deputy Speaker during the leadership crisis, for her loyalty and support. While addressing the Assembly, he emphasized the importance of unity and thanked all lawmakers for their commitment to the Assembly’s integrity.

Concluding his speech, Obasa announced the indefinite adjournment of the Lagos State House of Assembly, signaling a temporary halt in legislative activities. His return as Speaker comes after a tumultuous period marked by a leadership crisis that had seen him removed from office in January 2025.
