A group of women from Akwa Ibom staged a protest against Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan after she accused Senate President Godswill Akpabio of sexual harassment. The protest took place on March 1, 2025, with the women voicing their discontent over the allegations. They expressed strong support for Akpabio, who they refer to as "their son," and condemned Natasha’s remarks, insisting that the Senate President’s reputation and office be respected.

The protesters, chanting "Natasha, we no go gree, the insult is too much, we no go gree," made it clear they would not tolerate further insults directed at their son, Godswill Akpabio. Placards carried by the demonstrators highlighted messages such as “As Nigerian women, we respect our men, and our tradition” and “Respect the office of the Senate President.”

This protest follows a series of developments stemming from Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s serious claims against Akpabio, which had sparked widespread debate. The women of Akwa Ibom seem determined to shield Akpabio from further damage to his reputation, with some expressing concerns about the damage such allegations could cause to the office he holds.
