Mrs. Rita Lori Ogbebor, the wife of the late Colonel Paul Ogbebor, has expressed frustration over the Nigerian government's actions concerning land ownership in Abuja. She revealed that her late husband was among the engineers responsible for building the capital city 42 years ago. Ogbebor's comments came in response to the recent land dispute involving the Life Camp community in Abuja. The FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, had reportedly revoked land interests in the area and attempted demolition with bulldozers.

Residents, including social media influencer Martins Vincent Otse, challenged the land revocation, stating that the actions were illegal due to a court order protecting the land. The properties in question belong to the family of the late Colonel Ogbebor, and the controversy intensified after it was claimed that the land was being reallocated to Wike’s associates.

Ogbebor, now 84, expressed her indignation, stating that it would be beneath her to appeal to President Bola Tinubu or the FCT Minister for intervention. She underscored her husband’s significant role in the development of Abuja, pointing out that figures like Wike and Chinda, who were teenagers when the city was being built, should not have the power to undermine the legacy of those who contributed to the capital’s creation. Ogbebor called for the matter to be taken to those who surround the president to ensure justice is served.
