A Lagos-based NYSC member, Ushie Rita, has raised concerns over alleged threats following her viral video criticizing President Bola Tinubu’s government over inflation and hardship. In the video, she lamented the worsening economic conditions and accused the administration of failing Nigerians. She also described Lagos as a “smelling state.”

After the video went viral, Rita claimed she began receiving threatening messages, allegedly from NYSC officials, pressuring her to delete the content. She shared messages on her Instagram page, expressing fears for her safety.

Her allegations have ignited debates on social media about freedom of speech and the treatment of corps members under the NYSC scheme.
