Peter Obi, the former presidential candidate, won the admiration in Kogi State by directly resolving a traffic gridlock caused by protesting trailer drivers. In a viral video, Obi is seen engaging with the drivers, who praised him for his leadership, calling him "our president" as they cleared the road for travelers.

During a recent trip through Kogi State, former presidential candidate Peter Obi was celebrated by local travelers as he intervened to resolve a traffic standstill. The traffic congestion, caused by a group of trailer drivers who had blocked the road in protest, stemmed from an incident where a police officer allegedly shot the tire of one of the trailers. In response, the drivers obstructed the road, refusing to let other vehicles pass.

Witnesses report that Obi, upon reaching the scene, stepped out of his car to speak directly with the angry drivers. One driver, wearing a brown kaftan and reportedly upset over his damaged tire, was soon seen in a much lighter mood, even taking selfies with Obi. The drivers, impressed by Obi’s humility and approach, cleared the road shortly afterward, allowing for the resumption of normal traffic flow.

Video footage from the scene shows travelers and onlookers hailing Obi as "our president" and expressing their appreciation for his hands-on approach. They praised his leadership qualities, contrasting his actions with those of typical politicians who might have resorted to forceful tactics.
