Nigeria’s Super Eagles have kicked off preparations for their crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Rwanda, with key players Victor Osimhen, Kayode Bankole, and Bruno Onyemaechi among the early arrivals in Kigali. The team, led by head coach Eric Chelle, is set to train intensively as they seek to turn their qualification campaign around.

Osimhen, coming off a stellar performance in club football, touched down in Rwanda alongside Onyemaechi, who also played a pivotal role in his club’s recent success. Their arrival marks the beginning of a focused training camp, with more players expected to join in the coming days.

The squad is currently based at the Radisson Blu Hotel, where tactical preparations are underway for the must-win fixture against Rwanda on March 21. Assistant coaches Daniel Ogunmodede and Fidelis Ilechukwu have also reported to camp, emphasizing the team’s commitment to a rigorous buildup.

Nigeria faces an uphill battle in the qualifiers, with just two points from four matches. The Super Eagles must secure victories against Rwanda and Zimbabwe to keep their World Cup hopes alive. With club commitments on hold, key players, including captain William Troost-Ekong, are expected to reinforce the squad ahead of the crunch encounters.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has deployed officials to oversee logistics, ensuring smooth preparations. With Osimhen leading the charge, the Super Eagles are determined to reignite their campaign and secure a much-needed victory in Kigali.
