On January 1, 2025, an unruly passenger aboard an Air France flight was deboarded at Abuja International Airport after causing disruption that posed a safety risk to others on board. The French national, who did not possess a Nigerian visa, was detained, and French Embassy staff, along with a doctor, attended to him. He was later accommodated in a hotel within the airport terminal.

The passenger's behavior resulted in another deboarding by British Airways, who also encountered issues with his disruptive conduct. The next day, he was scheduled to fly with Asky Airlines, but his e-ticket lacked payment evidence, leading to his inability to board. Immigration officials struggled to manage his erratic behavior, as he screamed and littered the terminal while demanding his passport. They withheld it to prevent him from escaping through the airport exit gate.

Miriam Anosike, the NCAA Consumer Protection regional head, intervened, reminding Air France of their responsibility for the passenger's return to France. She urged them to arrange his flight immediately, as his presence had become a liability. The situation was closely monitored, with hopes that Air France would fulfill their commitment to airlift him. Immigration officers handled the incident with professionalism, maintaining order in a chaotic situation.
