Nigerian social media influencer VeryDarkMan (VDM) has called on singer Davido to release fellow artist Dammy Krane from prison. VDM made this plea on August 28, 2024, following his recent visit to a police station, where he claimed to have encountered Krane in custody.
In an emotional Instagram post, VDM acknowledged their turbulent relationship, highlighting a previous incident where Krane had publicly insulted him. However, he expressed a desire to see Krane freed, emphasizing Davido's reputation as a fair and generous individual. He stated, “David Adeleke, you be my brother... I know you have been pushed to the wall but you aren’t an oppressor.”
VDM recounted his experience at the police station, revealing that during a visit to thank officers for their support, he learned of Krane’s arrest. He claimed Krane stated that Davido was responsible for his incarceration, which led to VDM questioning the circumstances. Despite their history, VDM urged Davido to show mercy and give Krane a second chance, insisting that it was not in his nature to use his influence negatively.
The plea comes in the wake of Krane's controversial claims that Davido was trying to frame him for various grievances. VDM concluded his message by offering to provide food for Krane but reiterated his hope that Davido would reconsider his stance and allow Krane to regain his freedom.
