Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, announced he will never support Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara again due to accusations of false claims regarding financial demands. Wike emphasized the importance of integrity and adherence to the rule of law in political relationships.
In a recent interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, announced that he would no longer support Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara in any future political endeavors. This decision follows a series of accusations that Wike made against Fubara, claiming the governor falsely alleged that Wike had requested N20 billion and N100 billion from him.
Wike expressed his disappointment with Fubara’s actions, stating, “I will never support Fubara in my political life again.” He emphasized the sacrifices he made to help elevate Fubara to his current position, insisting that he had worked hard to build the political structure that allowed Fubara to succeed. Wike criticized Fubara for allegedly exploiting presidential interventions and disrespecting the political system, particularly by refusing to comply with a budget resubmission request from President Bola Tinubu.
Wike further highlighted the importance of upholding the rule of law, declaring that he cannot support someone who disregards legal processes. He voiced his belief in equity, fairness, and justice, reiterating that he had no ulterior motives when supporting the president. As tensions between the two politicians rise, Wike’s public denunciation marks a significant shift in Rivers State’s political landscape, potentially reshaping future alliances and rivalries.
