Vice President Kashim Shettima praises President Tinubu for his modesty, revealing that Tinubu has used the same wristwatch since they met. Shettima compares his Maiduguri home to Tinubu’s Bourdillon house, stating his is better. He urges Nigerians to support Tinubu's efforts to address the nation’s challenges.

Vice President Kashim Shettima recently highlighted President Bola Tinubu's modest lifestyle and deep commitment to Nigeria's progress, during a book launch in Abuja. Shettima praised Tinubu for his focus on national development rather than personal luxury, sharing anecdotes that illustrated the president's unpretentious nature.

Shettima, while speaking at the event, noted that Tinubu's personal choices reflect his dedication to the nation. He recounted a visit to Tinubu's residence in Bourdillon, Ikoyi, where he was surprised to find a simple home, contrasting sharply with the grand expectations associated with such a prominent political figure. Shettima also shared an incident where, despite a variety of meals being offered, Tinubu chose to eat garri and groundnut, underscoring his preference for simplicity.

According to Shettima, Tinubu has consistently demonstrated a focus on governance and the well-being of Nigerians, rather than accumulating wealth or indulging in extravagance. He humorously mentioned that he, Shettima, dresses better than Tinubu, who has been using the same wristwatch for years, indicating the president's indifference to materialistic pursuits.

Shettima emphasized that Tinubu is determined to leave a lasting positive impact on Nigeria, urging citizens to support the president’s efforts. He acknowledged the challenges inherited by the current administration but expressed confidence in Tinubu’s ability to steer the country toward sustained economic growth.

The Vice President also addressed the nation's economic situation, stating that the government's recent decisions are aimed at long-term benefits, even if they are difficult in the short term. He reassured Nigerians that the administration is committed to addressing security and economic issues, with a vision of a brighter future for all.

The event was attended by prominent figures including Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji, Chief Bisi Akande, and Femi Gbajabiamila, among others, marking the launch of a new book on education policies in Nigeria.
