In a recent lecture at the University of Ilorin, Prof. Ademola Popoola warns of the dangers of prolonged penile erection, stressing that erections lasting over 30 minutes can be harmful.

The professor, speaking at the 250th Inaugural Lecture, urges individuals with extended erections to seek immediate medical attention to avoid potential risks.

Popoola emphasizes the need for competent medical intervention to prevent complications that may arise from sustained penile erection.

While noting the importance of turgid erections for satisfactory sexual intercourse, he also highlights the potential risk of fractures or breaks in prolonged erections. Research, according to the expert, indicates that the right side of the penis is more susceptible to ruptures than the left side.

The lecture, titled "That All May Pee in Peace," sheds light on the critical aspect of men's health, encouraging awareness and timely medical response.
