Tensions flared at Christian Methodist Senior High School (Chrimeto) in Ghana when students violently confronted teachers who were strictly enforcing exam regulations during the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE). The conflict reportedly began after students were frustrated with the teachers' refusal to allow cheating.

According to reports, one teacher, Adanunyo, recounted a chilling warning he received from students after an integrated science paper, suggesting they would retaliate if the supervision remained strict. The following day, amid heightened tensions and a lack of police presence, the situation deteriorated. Students hurled stones and sachets of water at the teachers, targeting Adanunyo and several colleagues.

Adanunyo described the event as frightening, noting that he had suggested leaving the area, but students intercepted them and confronted them about their enforcement of exam rules. He stated, "Some students took alternative routes and confronted us halfway, accusing me of being too strict and not allowing cheating." The attack highlights the significant challenges facing educators during high-stakes examinations in Ghana, raising concerns about student behavior and the necessity for increased security during such events.
