Aliko Dangote has accused ex-Ogun State Governor Ibikunle Amosun of demolishing his cement factory twice. He made this claim during a meeting with Governor Dapo Abiodun, crediting him for encouraging investment. The allegations have fueled debate, with Amosun yet to respond to the accusations.

Billionaire businessman and President of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, has alleged that former Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, demolished his cement factory twice during his administration. Dangote made this revelation on Monday, March 17, 2025, while meeting with the current Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun.

The meeting, which was centered on expanding investment in key sectors such as manufacturing, oil and gas, and energy, took an unexpected turn when Dangote recounted his experience under Amosun’s leadership. A viral video from the event captured the industrialist lamenting how his attempts to establish a cement plant in Itori were repeatedly thwarted.

According to Dangote, the first phase of construction was halted when Amosun’s administration demolished the facility. After a second attempt to rebuild, the government allegedly demolished not only the factory but also the fencing around the site, leading the company to abandon the project. However, Dangote praised Governor Abiodun for creating a more favorable investment climate, stating that his company had now decided to return to Ogun State to resume operations.

The allegations have sparked debates among Nigerians, with some questioning Amosun’s motivations and others speculating about potential political or business rivalries. While Amosun has yet to respond, industry experts say such actions could deter investors and harm economic growth in the state.

As the controversy unfolds, many await a response from the former governor to clarify the reasons behind the demolitions.
