Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), clarified that he did not extend an invitation to President Bola Tinubu to mediate in the political crisis in Rivers State.
Speaking at a thanksgiving ceremony, Wike expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for his intervention, though he stressed that the president's involvement was not at his request.
Last week, a truce was brokered between Wike and Governor Fubara, culminating from a meeting with President Tinubu, leading to an eight-point resolution aimed at easing tensions in the state.
Wike urged the congregation to pray for a successful resolution and emphasized that, regardless of opinions, he had committed to the peace process initiated by the president.
