Nyesom Wike’s spokesperson, Lere Olayinka, has criticized former Rivers Governor Peter Odili’s recent comments, calling them partisan and disappointing. Odili had praised Governor Siminalayi Fubara for preventing Wike from capturing the state. Olayinka promised a response from Wike, intensifying the ongoing political rivalry in Rivers State.

Former Rivers State Governor Dr. Peter Odili has come under fire from Nyesom Wike’s spokesperson, Lere Olayinka, following remarks Odili made about the current political situation in the state. At a recent Christmas event, Odili praised Governor Siminalayi Fubara for effectively preventing Wike from turning Rivers into a personal domain. Odili claimed that Fubara had shown remarkable bravery by confronting Wike’s alleged political ambitions, which Odili described as an unnecessary and intense struggle.

In response, Olayinka expressed his disappointment with Odili’s comments, criticizing the former governor for straying from the role of an elder statesman. Olayinka accused Odili of displaying partisanship rather than offering wisdom and impartiality expected from someone of his stature.
