The Digest:
Nyesom Wike has commended the Court of Appeal's verdict nullifying the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) national convention held on November 15-16, 2025, in Ibadan. The appellate court upheld a federal high court judgment restraining the PDP from conducting the convention, ruling that the party violated constitutional provisions governing conventions and failed to serve INEC with valid notice. The court also held that congresses were not held in more than 14 states as required by law. Speaking after the ruling, Wike stated: "Today is one of my happiest days... For me, it is an opportunity for the party to come back together. We have fought enough. It is time to drop personal interests and see how we can move the party forward." The convention, backed by Governors Seyi Makinde and Bala Mohammed, had elected Kabiru Turaki as national chairman, leading to a parallel NWC, BoT, and NEC from Wike's faction.
