Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, publicly declared his loyalty to President Bola Tinubu, describing him as a father figure. Wike criticized Rivers State Governor Sim Fubara for exploiting Tinubu's intervention while tensions between the two leaders over political control and resource management continued to escalate.

In a recent interview on Channels Television, Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), publicly reaffirmed his loyalty to President Bola Tinubu, stating, “Tinubu is my father.” Wike emphasized his belief in Tinubu's leadership abilities, noting their age difference as a reason for his respect and allegiance.

Wike's comments come in the wake of ongoing political tensions with Rivers State Governor Sim Fubara. He accused Fubara of exploiting Tinubu's presidential intervention for personal gain, saying, “The governor took advantage of the presidential intervention to insult everybody.” Wike asserted that he never negotiated his support for Tinubu and views the President as a paternal figure due to their age disparity.

The conflict between Wike and Fubara has intensified over issues of political control and resource management within Rivers State. Although Tinubu has attempted to mediate the situation, encouraging both parties to sign a peace agreement, the discord persists. Wike criticized Fubara for initiating multiple legal challenges against the federal government's directives, indicating a deepening rift despite attempts at reconciliation.
