In a recent fiery tirade, Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory and former Governor of Rivers State, aimed at prominent leaders within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State, accusing them of being "political buccaneers."
Wike's criticism was directed at figures such as Abiye Sekibo, Uche Secondus, Celestine Omehia, and Austin Opara, who had publicly declared their support for Governor Siminalayi Fubara, Wike's former political protégé.
Wike denounced these leaders as "expired politicians" and questioned their integrity, alleging that they had previously opposed Fubara's candidacy. He criticized their sudden change of allegiance and accused them of engaging in political opportunism.
Furthermore, Wike expressed his disillusionment with the state of political affairs in Rivers State, lamenting the erosion of relationships, including his strained ties with former Governor Peter Odili. Wike's scathing remarks underscored the deep divisions within the PDP ranks and the complex dynamics of political power in the region.
