Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, has issued a stern warning to fellow PDP governors, cautioning them against interfering in the party’s affairs in Rivers State. During a speech at the PDP Secretariat in Port Harcourt on Saturday, Wike expressed his displeasure with attempts by other governors to take over the PDP structure in Rivers.
His comments came in response to a recent meeting of PDP governors in Taraba State, where they supported Governor Sim Fubara and called for a review of the party congress outcome in Rivers State. Wike vehemently opposed this intervention, threatening to retaliate against any governor who attempts to interfere in his state.
Wike emphasized his determination to maintain control over the PDP in Rivers, stating, "Let me assure all of you, not while we live will anybody take away the structure of PDP from us." He also warned that he would "put fire" in the states of any governor who challenges his authority, regardless of their origin.
The minister’s fiery remarks highlight the ongoing tensions within the PDP and the power struggle in Rivers State, as he vowed to protect his political stronghold at all costs.
