FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has threatened to seal off any building used as the headquarters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) faction led by Kabiru Turaki. Speaking during his monthly media chat on Wednesday, Wike challenged the group to prove its authenticity by opening an official PDP bank account. "If they are sure they are the authentic leadership of the PDP, let them open an official PDP account and tell party members to pay nomination fees into it," he said. Wike warned that any bank that allows the faction to open such an account "will be in trouble."

Key Points
  • Wike insists the Turaki-led faction is operating an illegal structure.
  • He dares the group to open a PDP office anywhere in Abuja.
  • The minister says his duty is to maintain law and order in the FCT.
  • Turaki was appointed interim chairman by a Makinde-backed NEC meeting.
  • The PDP remains embroiled in a leadership crisis following a Supreme Court ruling.

Watch whether the Turaki-led faction tests Wike's threat by opening an office or bank account in Abuja.
