Loveth Helen Alo, 32, was arraigned in Enugu for falsely claiming ownership of a five-bedroom duplex at Zion Prayer Ministry. She admitted fabricating the testimony after being exposed. Police charged her with fraud and defamation. Granted bail, her case is set for April 9, 2025.

A 32-year-old woman, Loveth Helen Alo, has been arraigned before the Enugu North Magisterial District Court for allegedly making false claims about owning a five-bedroom duplex in WTC Estate, Enugu. Her testimony, given at Zion Prayer Ministry Movement Outreach in Lagos, caught the attention of law enforcement after it was discovered to be false.

According to the Enugu State Police Command spokesperson, SP Daniel Ndukwe, detectives from the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) arrested Alo following a petition alleging she had fraudulently claimed ownership of the property. During the church service, she testified that God had blessed her with the house, prompting Evangelist Ebuka Obi to use her story as an example to inspire his congregation.

However, Alo’s claim unraveled when she was later seen running a small beverage shop, raising suspicions about the authenticity of her story. Upon interrogation, she admitted that her testimony was false and that she had acted alone.

The police charged her with five counts, including obtaining by false pretense, defamation of character, and attempting to commit a felony by trying to sell the property. She was granted bail, with her trial set to continue on April 9, 2025. Authorities have urged the public to verify information before making claims that could have legal consequences.
