Nollywood actress Wumi Toriola has stirred controversy after calling out food content creator Tolani ‘Chef T’ Tayo-Osikoya for allegedly ignoring her request to collaborate.

Taking to Instagram, Wumi revealed that she reached out to Chef T last year, hoping to feature in one of her cooking episodes to promote her upcoming movie. She shared screenshots of her messages and accused Chef T of feeling “too big” to respond.

Her post divided social media users, with some supporting her stance while others defended Chef T’s right to choose her collaborations.

Nigerian food critic Opeyemi Famakin jumped into the debate, defending Chef T and calling out Wumi for what he termed an “entitled” attitude. Famakin stated that Chef T is known for collaborating with many people in the food industry and that no one is owed a response. He emphasized that collaborations should be based on mutual interest, not pressure.

According to Famakin, many people seek collaborations only for exposure rather than genuine interest. He insisted that Chef T has the right to decide who she works with and criticized Wumi for “dragging” her publicly. As social media debates continue, Chef T has yet to address the controversy.
