Wunmi Aloba, widow of late Nigerian singer Mohbad, has agreed to a DNA test for their son, Liam. This decision comes after previous refusals, driven by pressure from family and online critics.

Wunmi Aloba, the widow of the late Nigerian artist Mohbad (Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba), has agreed to take a DNA test for their son, Liam, nearly a year after the singer's untimely death. This decision follows a previous declaration made by Wunmi during an Instagram Live session earlier this year, where she firmly stated she would refuse any DNA testing. At that time, she emphasized her unwavering belief in her son's paternity, asserting, “Mohbad was the one who disvirgined me, and I have never slept with any man other than him.”

Recently, Wunmi’s lawyer, Barrister Akingbolu, revealed her newfound willingness to undergo the DNA test, primarily aimed at dispelling doubts raised by her father-in-law, Joseph Aloba, and other skeptics regarding Liam's paternity. Akingbolu noted that Wunmi’s initial reluctance stemmed from overwhelming pressure and grief after Mohbad's death, which was exacerbated by public scrutiny and allegations made by Mr. Aloba.

The lawyer accused Joseph Aloba of conducting a smear campaign against Wunmi and Liam through the media. He explained that Wunmi’s decision to take the DNA test, done voluntarily and without court orders, signifies a strong commitment to affirm her son's identity and protect her late husband’s legacy.
