In an exclusive interview with Afia TV on Wednesday, Emeka Rollas, the President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), unveiled a remarkable tale of survival and resilience, dispelling false rumors and shedding light on the true state of veteran actor Zack Orji's health.
Rollas revealed that Orji, a beloved figure in Nigeria's entertainment industry, has undergone not one, but two successful brain surgeries and is presently in good health. Contrary to circulating misinformation, Orji's condition has improved significantly, with Rollas emphasizing that the actor is speaking and in stable condition.
The revelation comes amidst a wave of false rumors spreading across social media platforms, alleging Orji's demise. Rollas expressed dismay at the propagation of such baseless claims, underscoring the detrimental impact of misinformation in the digital age.
"Because of the internet age, people just want to grow their page and they can spill nonsense," Rollas remarked, highlighting the unfortunate reality of sensationalism overshadowing accuracy. "For somebody to wake up and say that Zack has passed on is inhuman."
Orji's journey, fraught with uncertainty and challenges, began when he was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of the National Hospital in Abuja on New Year's Eve. However, his unwavering spirit and the support of his loved ones propelled him through the darkest hours.
Rollas further disclosed that Orji now requires a post-surgery evaluation abroad, a crucial step toward ensuring his continued recovery. Despite the financial hurdles, efforts are underway to gather the necessary funds to facilitate Orji's journey for evaluation.
"He just needs a post-surgery evaluation abroad, which we are gradually gathering money to send him abroad for that," Rollas stated, highlighting the AGN's commitment to supporting Orji through every stage of his recovery.
